Insect Net
Insect Net is a fine-mesh, UV stabilized HDPE net that works as a physical barrier against pests. It is fitted over the side walls and ventilation openings of a polyhouse, or used to cover a whole structure, so air can flow through while insects stay out. Fewer insects getting in means fewer sprays, less virus spread and cleaner produce. It comes in 40 mesh and 50 mesh, in White, Green and Black. Pick a colour above to see it.
Key Features
Fine, uniform mesh: evenly sized holes, small enough to stop insects but open enough to let air through.
Two mesh sizes: 40 mesh and 50 mesh, chosen by the pests you need to keep out.
UV stabilized HDPE: built for years of sun exposure on side walls and roof vents.
Three colours: White, Green and Black.
Tear resistant: holds up to tensioning, wind and routine handling during crop work.
Benefits of Insect Net
Less pesticide use: keeping pests out physically means fewer chemical sprays and lower input costs.
Lower virus risk: many crop viruses are carried by small sucking insects, so keeping them out protects the whole crop.
Ventilation stays open: side vents can stay open for cooling without letting pests in.
Better quality produce: less insect damage gives cleaner, more marketable fruit, flowers and leaves.
Safer for residue-free farming: helpful for export crops and for growers cutting down on chemicals.
40 Mesh or 50 Mesh?
The mesh number is the number of openings per inch. A higher number means smaller holes.
40 mesh: the common all-round choice for polyhouse side walls. It keeps out many common pests while allowing better airflow, which helps in warmer areas.
50 mesh: a finer mesh for very small insects such as thrips. It gives tighter protection, but slightly less air passes through, so ventilation needs to be planned for it.
The right choice depends on which pests are common in your area and how well the structure is ventilated. Our team can help you choose.
Where It Is Used
Polyhouse side walls and roof vents: naturally ventilated and Fan Pad Greenhouse structures.
Insect-proof nethouses: complete covering for vegetables such as capsicum, tomato and cucumber.
Nurseries: protecting seedlings and grafted plants at their most vulnerable stage.
Seed production and research plots: where cross-pollination and pest entry must be controlled.
Mesh size and colour should be chosen based on the crop, the local pests and the climate.
